Community Support, Involvement and Honors
For more than 100 years, Fox Rothschild has been committed to supporting our communities. As part of the firm's Women's Initiative, we contribute to fundraisers and other activities that support the community in general and the interests of women specifically. We also partner with women's organizations to build relationships and host joint events.
We encourage participation in pro-bono work at all levels of the firm, including activities that support women's issues. Our pro bono activities are varied and encompass a number of options for women attorneys.
The Women's Initiative, as part of its mission to celebrate women, recently embarked on an ambitious partnering effort supporting charitable organizations that serve the professional and other needs of women in the community. Nearly all of the firm's 15 offices have been involved and hosted individual events. Women attorneys in each office collaborated with a local organization to support and celebrate women in their area. Some of the charitable organizations the Initiative partnered with included: the Community Youth & Women's Alliance of Chester County, PA; A Miner Miracle SHOP in San Francisco; Covenant House of Atlantic City; Village Improvement Association of Bucks County, PA; Homefront of Princeton; and the Downtown Women's Shelter in Los Angeles. The events varied in nature and included cocktail receptions and wine tasting and dessert receptions that raised proceeds and/or collected donations to directly support the charitable organizations.
Our women lawyers serve in leadership capacities outside of the firm in both professional and charitable organizations and have held a range of positions, including:
- Board of Governors – Philadelphia Bar Association
- Chair – Women's Way, nation's oldest and largest funding federation for services to women and children
- Executive Committee – Gender Fairness in the Courts Task Force
- Board of Trustees – Women's Law Project
- Board Member – Lawyers with Children Association
- Chair – Community YMCA Children's Achievement Center
- Board of Directors – Nevada Court-Appointed Special Advocates for Children
- Board of Education – Atlantic County Special Services School District
- Chair – Philadelphia Bar Association Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention
- Board Member – Nevada Neuroscience Foundation
