Before Fox Rothschild

Alejandro joined Fox Rothschild upon graduating with honors from the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school, he worked at a premier boutique litigation firm in Miami and gained valuable experience in high-stakes battles in state and federal court, including white-collar defense, class action and securities matters.

From 2009 to 2010, Alejandro served in the Administration of President Barack Obama as a national spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). In this capacity, he was an integral part of the media relations and crisis communications team at the DOJ. He worked regularly with U.S. Attorney’s Offices throughout the country, other federal agencies and the White House. His tenure at the DOJ led to a natural transition to commencing his legal studies and eventually being admitted to the Florida Bar.

In the 2008 election cycle, Alejandro was a Regional Communications Director in Florida for the Obama for America campaign. He was President Obama’s bilingual spokesperson for South Florida’s media markets, including Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe Counties, as well as the statewide director of the campaign’s Spanish-language media relations. In this capacity, Alejandro was a key player in President Obama’s historic 2008 victory in Florida.

Prior to his work for President Obama, Alejandro was the statewide press secretary for the Florida Democratic Party during the 2008 Presidential Primary. From 2004 to 2007, he was press secretary to City of Miami Mayor Manuel “Manny” A. Diaz. He served as a trusted aide to Mayor Diaz during a sustained period of economic development and progressive governance, which has furthered Miami’s global status. While he remains deeply invested in public service, Alejandro’s high-level political training now translates to passionate advocacy for his clients in court, a board room or elsewhere.
