Biography

Athanasios concentrates his practice on financial restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency matters and related litigation. Throughout his career, Athanasios has gained and developed extensive courtroom experience that spans a wide range of adversary proceedings and contested matters in Chapter 7, 11, 12, 13 and 15 bankruptcy cases.

Before Fox Rothschild

Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Athanasios served as a Trial Attorney in the Las Vegas Field Office of the United States Trustee Program. During his tenure as a Trial Attorney, Athanasios led the litigation and Chapter 7 case trustee oversight efforts of a team of professionals for more than seven years, including throughout much of the Great Recession and in many of the largest and most significant cases filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada.

Athanasios was also a bankruptcy attorney at both an international law firm and a Delaware-based law firm involved in private sector engagements and representations of Chapter 11 debtors and debtors in possession, bankruptcy case trustees in both Chapter 7 and 11 cases, official committees of unsecured creditors, secured and unsecured creditors, acquirers and potential acquirers of distressed assets, equity security holders and other parties in interest.

During law school, Athanasios was a recipient of a Robert W. Woodruff Fellowship in Law and served as a notes and comments editor on the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal. Athanasios also served as a field placement intern for the Honorable James E. Massey of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
