body - Rothstein, Wendy G.

Wendy focuses her practice on solving business problems for both for-profit and non-profit entities. When working with clients such as Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority and the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Wendy develops plans and strategies for companies to navigate their way through both every day and unique challenges that arise in the course of doing business. She also counsels businesses on avoiding litigation when possible and represents them in successfully prosecuting and defending litigation when necessary.

Wendy is known as the “go to” person for Montgomery County litigation. Wendy served as the Chair of the Montgomery County Litigation Department from 1996 through 2008. One of the top litigators in Montgomery County, Wendy is widely known and respected in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas, having worked in the Courthouse prior to law school and practiced there her entire legal career since 1982. Wendy has acted in an advisory capacity to the Montgomery County judges in serving as a Discovery Master since 2001. In June 2009, she published an article in The Legal Intelligencer on The Montgomery County Discovery Master Program.

Wendy has a diverse litigation practice including:

  • Commercial and business litigation
  • Alternative dispute resolution including commercial arbitrations and mediation
  • Employment litigation involving:
    • Restrictive covenants
    • Trade secrets
    • Fiduciary duties
    • Defending employers targeted by employment discrimination lawsuit;
    • Defending wage and hour lawsuits.
  • Real estate, tax assessment, land use and zoning litigation.

As co-chair of the firm's Real Estate Tax Appeals Group, Wendy has represented both taxpayers and school districts throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in tax assessment litigation matters involving shopping centers, industrial facilities, office buildings, large residential properties, landfills, quarries, nuclear power plants, racetracks, casinos, cemeteries, cellular towers, airports and deed restricted properties.

Beyond Fox Rothschild

In 2013, Wendy was one of 13 attorneys selected to serve as a mediator and arbitrator through the Montgomery Bar Association Center for Mediation and Arbitration. The organization provides quick, efficient, cost-effective dispute resolution for lawyers, insurance companies, and any members of the public who have a civil dispute or a pretrial case pending in Montgomery, Delaware, Berks, Chester, Bucks, or Philadelphia counties.

In 2012, Wendy was appointed to serve a three-year term on the Board of View by the Board of Judges of Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas.

Wendy was also appointed by former Senator Rick Santorum to the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission, where she reviewed all applicant submissions and interviewed candidates for future vacancies on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The commission’s recommendations are ultimately submitted to the President for nomination to the Court.

In 2001, Wendy was appointed as one of 5 Discovery Masters in Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas by the Montgomery County Board of Judges—the first woman to hold this position. She lectures on a regular basis through the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on tax assessment law and mechanics lien law. In 2010, Wendy was elected to a four-year term on the Montgomery County Bar Association Judiciary Committee, which interviews and rates potential candidates for the Montgomery County Bench. She was also selected to serve as the Chair of the Bar Association Bench Bar Committee, which is a liaison committee between the Bar Association members and the judges.

Wendy was the presiding judge at the 2009 University of Pennsylvania Law Mock Trial Competition.

Wendy currently serves as secretary of the Norristown Zoological Society, a nonprofit organization that owns and operates the Elmwood Park Zoo.
