Nevena combines her knowledge of corporate, public finance and international law to create a multifaceted practice to address her clients' needs. Her experience includes mergers and acquisitions, lending and secured transactions, securities and general corporate representation of publicly held and family-owned businesses. Nevena advises clients in the areas of commercial contracts, corporate governance, employment agreements, noncompetition agreements, as well as shareholder, limited liability company and partnership agreements.
Nevena also serves as bond, borrower's and underwriter's counsel in municipal and tax-exempt financing transactions, with an emphasis on health care and higher-education revenue bond financings.
In addition, Nevena represents both domestic and international clients in import and export control matters. She handles issues relating to customs classification requirements; develops and updates internal compliance policies and procedures; and advises on export licensing and other export controls involving compliance under the Export Administration Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Trading with the Enemy Act (TWEA) and the International Economic Emergency Powers Act (IEEPA).

A former summer associate with the firm, Nevena also served as a summer associate at a firm in Washington, D.C., working on international trade law matters. She also interned at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia in Beirut, Lebanon, as well as the United Nations Children's Fund in New York.
In law school, Nevena was a Notes Editor for the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal.
