Jana C. Volante
Jana provides thoughtful and passionate counsel, and her practice emphasizes white-collar criminal defense and compliance, environmental litigation and commercial litigation.
As part of her white-collar criminal defense and compliance practice, Jana has been involved in the representation of corporations, their officers and executives and other professionals in investigations conducted by both state and federal prosecutors. She also has experience representing witnesses testifying before grand juries. Additionally, Jana has experience helping clients implement corporate compliance programs.
Jana’s environmental litigation practice encompasses both the civil and white-collar criminal defense arenas, including the representation of a corporation in a federal criminal investigation involving the Clean Air Act. She has also been involved in the representation of entities in both the civil and criminal contexts in matters involving water, including litigation involving the Clean Water Act.
Jana’s commercial litigation experience includes serving as lead counsel, with a victory, in a jury trial involving allegations of breach of contract. She successfully served as lead counsel in a mandatory arbitration in state court involving allegations of breach of contract. She also has experience in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including mediations and arbitrations.
Before Fox RothschildJana is a former intern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, where she served on the Drug Task Force. Jana also served as an intern for the Honorable Terrence McVerry of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. At Harvard Law School, Jana was a teaching assistant to Professor Bruce Hay and worked on the Journal on Legislation.
Beyond Fox RothschildAdditionally, Jana actively engages the community and has been selected to participate in Leadership Pittsburgh, Inc.’s Leadership Development Initiative, Class XXI. She also serves on the Advisory Council of the Pittsburgh Chapter of Strong Women, Strong Girls and is an active member of Grove City College’s Alumni Council.
