Lori, a respected entertainment lawyer, has more than 20 years of experience providing legal and consulting services to clients in the media and entertainment industries, primarily in the areas of music, television and film. Using the firm’s Philadelphia, PA office as her home base, Lori works and travels extensively throughout the United States to serve as trusted entertainment counsel to a variety of clients with a wide array of business and legal needs relating to the creation, use and exploitation of creative content and brand cultivation. In her role as entertainment counsel and advisor, Lori regularly negotiates and drafts complex agreements – including production, distribution, licensing, sponsorship, merchandising, exclusive services, management, talent, development, employment, severance, nondisclosure and settlement agreements – all designed to support and advance her clients’ business objectives. Lori’s clients include multinational corporations, cultural institutions, closely held businesses, individual artists and creators and well known entertainment and media executives.

Lori is a former in-house counsel to major entertainment companies and was president of a consulting enterprise servicing entertainment, media, technology, cultural and arts-oriented organizations. In those roles, Lori led several initiatives for business development, strategic growth, brand cultivation as well as instituting measures leading to substantial cost savings and new revenue generation for her clients. Lori now leverages that experience to help her clients achieve their business goals, counseling them on the development of new media initiatives and applications; revenue diversification and generation; multiplatform content creation, acquisition and distribution; consumer and retail marketing; brand management and expansion; and website development and design.
Lori has represented private, public, domestic and multinational corporations in all phases of mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnerships, including identifying prospective targets, and acquiring, licensing and managing intellectual property assets. She also provides conflict resolution guidance and advice to her clients to help avert litigation and defends her clients’ interests when conflicts prove unavoidable.

Prior to joining the firm, Lori was a key member of the Media, Entertainment & Sports Law practice at a national law firm, where she built and expanded the scope of commercial transactions for media and entertainment companies as well as businesses venturing into content creation and acquisition.
Lori was also previously president of Landew Entertainment Business Associates, LLC, where she led business development initiatives and negotiated sophisticated deals for clients in entertainment and related industries.
Lori also served as general counsel for the Ryko Corporation, a multinational entertainment company, where she was one of a small executive management team that worked to develop business opportunities, form strategic partnerships and structure favorable deals that led to the company’s acquisition by the Warner Music Group.
Additionally, Lori formerly served as vice president of business affairs for Zomba Recording Corporation, the most successful independent music company in the world at the time, where she led several initiatives to realize substantial cost-savings and revenue growth for the company including building, training and managing an experienced licensing team that generated considerable revenues to the company’s bottom line.
Lori began her legal career as an associate in top New York law firms, representing clients in the entertainment and advanced technology industries in connection with their intellectual property and commercial litigation needs.
While in law school, Lori served as executive editor of the Columbia-VLA Journal of Law and the Arts and as president of the Columbia Advocates for the Arts.
Lori currently sits on the executive committee of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Recording Academy (the Grammy organization) and is a founder and sits on the board of directors of LiveConnections.org, the organization that connects all kinds of people through all kinds of music.
