As an attorney practicing finance and franchise law in Pennsylvania and New York including a strong presence in the New York City, Philadelphia and Bucks County regions, Liz focuses on a wide variety of corporate, venture finance, franchising, licensing and distribution matters. For 25 years, Liz has been a trusted adviser to clients, including startup companies and entrepreneurs, handling business and financial transactions such as venture capital and angel financing, mergers and acquisitions, franchising, securities, private placements, franchise regulatory matters and franchise agreements.
As Chair of the firm’s Franchising, Licensing & Distribution Group and a Co-chair of the firm’s Emerging Companies Practice Group, Liz offers her clients a comprehensive practice equipped to provide risk management through innovative guidance in a company’s start up, expansion or daily operations.
In addition, Liz serves as a member of the Steering Committee for the firmwide Women’s Initiative and is a member of the firm’s Finance Committee.
Liz acts as general counsel for numerous emerging and middle-market businesses, including franchise, life science and technology companies, overseeing and coordinating their finance and regulatory matters. She is also a member of the firm’s Corporate Securities Practice Group.

Liz is very active with the International Franchise Association (IFA), the leading organization for the franchise industry. She has been recognized as a Certified Franchise Executive by the IFA and has been appointed and serves on the Women’s Franchise Committee of the IFA. In addition, she has co-founded and serves as Co-chair of the IFA’s Philadelphia Chapter of the Women’s Franchise Network. Finally, she has served on the committee that is formulating an educational course for professional athletes who want to start a franchised business through her service on the Certified Athlete Franchise Committee of the Professional Athlete Franchise Initiative (PAFI), a partner organization of the IFA.
Active within the Bucks County community, Liz served as a board member of Doylestown Hospital, the Doylestown Health Foundation and the Village Improvement Association, Doylestown, PA for over a decade through 2014 and continues to serve as a pro bono legal advisor to the board of The Village Improvement Association of Doylestown, PA, the parent board of the Doylestown Hospital Health System. Liz has also served as the Chair of the Annual Fund of the Buckingham Friends School, Lahaska, PA and serves as a Board Member of the East Side House Settlement, Bronx, New York
Liz is managing director and Co-founder of Delaware Crossing Investor Group, an angel investors network headquartered in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Liz served as a judge in "Pitching Across America," in 2009, 2010 and 2011, a contest presented by FundingPost to select and rate top emerging companies in America. Liz also acted as a moderator for the "Sharkette Tank" angel investment competition for the Own It Ventures Conference in 2010 and 2011.
Liz is a frequent speaker and writer, especially on issues facing franchise and emerging businesses, as well as on issues pertaining to women's entrepreneurship. She is an active member of the Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT) and has also served as a member of the Technology Track and Investor/Entrepreneur Outreach Committee for the IMPACT Venture Summit in 2013, 2014 and 2016.
Liz is among the contributors to the firm's Franchise Law Update blog, which highlights not only the regulatory aspects of franchising but also diverse topics such as business finance, employment, litigation and the protection of intellectual property including trademarks and copyrights.
She also contributes to the Emerging Companies Insider blog, which focuses on recent and developing areas of the law affecting startup and emerging growth companies and their investors, including choice of entity, shareholders’ agreements, issuance of equity to employees, preparing for and executing a capital raise, exit strategies and the JOBS Act and its impact on how companies can and should raise capital from investors.
