A Few Good Docs: How To Recruit Physicians Within The Changes Of Stark Phase III
William H. Maruca, a partner with Fox Rothschild LLP, will speak at “Health Care Compliance TARGET: Financial Relationships.” The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Dulles in Washington, D.C., on May 19-20, 2008.
Maruca will present, “A Few Good Docs: How To Recruit Physicians Within The Changes Of Stark Phase III.” He will discuss recent changes to the new physician recruitment provisions. Key issues covered in the session will include who physicians can recruit, loan forgiveness, income guarantees, termination, and non-compete clauses. In addition, Maruca will provide tips and guidance on how to create fair relationships within Stark’s guidelines.
Maruca, who practices in the firm’s Pittsburgh office, has extensive experience in health care law, particularly in Medicare and Medicaid compliance; the Stark physician self-referral law; the Medicare Anti-Kickback law; the False Claims Act; CLIA, HIPAA, and EMTALA; and other federal and state regulatory requirements. He represents predominantly health-related ventures including physicians and other individual practitioners, hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, and imaging centers.
Maruca is a frequent speaker on health care topics at national and regional conferences and has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University. He has frequently contributed to and been quoted by national and regional health care publications.
