Richard S. Caputo, a partner with Fox Rothschild LLP, presented "Charitable Trust Administration: Common Errors That Could Result in Surcharge" and "Estate Planning with Charitable Trusts: Traps for the Unwary" at two recent financial conferences.

Caputo spoke as part of the Committee of Banking Institutions on Taxation’s 39th Annual Fall Tax Day, which was held on November 6 in New York, NY. He also presented at the 2008 Pennsylvania Bankers Association Wealth Management & Trust Conference held on October 30 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Caputo is highly experienced in trust administration, Orphans’ Court litigation, and tax-exempt organizations. He assists corporate fiduciaries in obtaining tax-exempt status for the charitable trusts they administer; represents corporate fiduciaries in various Orphans’ Court proceedings, such as cy pres proceedings, court accountings, and trust reformations; forms public charities, private foundations, supporting organizations, and other tax-exempt organizations; and addresses tax-exempt compliance issues such as intermediate sanctions, self-dealing, excess business holdings, qualifying distributions, and taxable expenditure responsibility.

Caputo frequently gives presentations on a variety of tax-exempt organization topics.
