Mandated energy and conservation measures have potential to devalue real estate assets and require huge capital investment.

Fox Rothschild invites you to attend a presentation to learn more about these new policies, their potential implementation and the impact on your real estate assets. The new plan serves as a blueprint for numerous energy initiatives over the next 12 years that mandates enhanced building and appliance codes and regulations for new and existing buildings. The plan is now entering the implementation phase, so it is not too late for the real estate industry to be heard.

Who should attend:
owners of existing and planned industrial and commercial properties and multifamily apartment buildings; builders of residential housing and developers of mixed-use projects; owners of large facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes and casinos; and REITS.

POTENTIAL IMPACT
• Mandated energy efficiency standards 30% to 50% higher than current standards
• All new buildings must be “net zero energy” and carbon neutral by 2030
• Time of sale restrictions on all transfers of real property

Registration and refreshments will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the seminar beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m. Steve Goldenberg, chair of Fox’s Energy & Public Utilities Practice, has been appointed by Governor Corzine to act as a Stakeholder Representative in the implementation process and has extensive knowledge of the Plan particulars. He will lead the discussion.
