Next Steps on the Path for Affordable Housing Provided by the NJ Supreme Court

Now that the New Jersey Supreme Court broke the deadlock relative to municipal compliance with the Mt. Laurel constitutional obligation for affordable housing, what’s next for developers and property owners in the Garden State?
The court order does not take effect until June 8, 2015, allowing a window for municipalities to reassess and revise housing needs and fair share plans and decide whether to voluntarily subject themselves to the court jurisdiction mandated by the Supreme Court decision.
Join us for a breakfast briefing where our panel of experienced New Jersey real estate practitioners will discuss how to maximize the opportunities now available as a result of the court’s decision. Municipalities will be faced with a probable substantial increase in affordable housing obligations. The result: opportunities for rezoning either residential or commercial land for greater residential density.
