The speaker will discuss the difference between nonprofit corporations and exempt organizations, will discuss why it is advantageous to qualify as a Code Section 501(c)(3) organization, will discuss the disadvantages of Code 501(c)(3) status, will explain how to obtain a Code Section 501(c)(3) exemption, will discuss the limitations, restrictions and prohibitions applicable to Code Section 501(c)(3) organizations (private inurement rules, private benefit rules, lobbying rules, political campaigning rules, etc.) and will provide an overview of private foundations, public charities and supporting organizations.
