Join Richard S. Caputo, chair of Fox Rothschild's Nonprofit Organizations Group, for a presentation on nonprofit organizations. Rich will give an overview of nonprofit organizations, will discuss the tax exemption process, will explain the differences between public charities, private foundations and supporting organizations and will summarize the private benefit rules, private inurement rules, unrelated business income tax rules and private foundation rules.

He will also discuss the most common problems encountered by Code Section 501(c)(3) organizations. This part of the presentation will deal with income and excise tax assessments, tax reporting issues, intermediate sanctions, fundraising, restricted funds, asset protection issues and UBIT issues. The program will conclude with a question and answer session.
