Mark has over 20 years of experience and focuses his practice on intellectual property matters, with an emphasis on the biotechnology and pharmaceutical platforms. Since joining Fox Rothschild, Mark has represented pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients, including counseling clients regarding the validity and scope of intellectual property rights, complex due diligence reviews covering internal or licensing-in development and commercialization opportunities, freedom to operate analysis, a wide breadth of intellectual property transactional matters, evaluation and development of intellectual property portfolios, as well as patent preparation and prosecution.
Before Fox Rothschild
Before joining Fox Rothschild, Mark spent 10 years as a patent attorney at Merck & Co., Inc. While at Merck, Mark provided in-house counsel regarding patent preparation and prosecution, intellectual property support for various licensing-in and licensing-out opportunities, including global transgenics, served as patent liaison for a long running vaccine development team, provided multiple due diligence analysis, and was engaged with interference practice.
Before entering the practice of law, Mark was a Research Scientist at American Cyanamid. As a graduate student, he performed research in the area of molecular biology as a Visiting Scientist at Rockefeller University and a Research Associate at the University of Pennsylvania.
