Drawing upon prior in-house counsel experience for two investment and development companies in California, Jed is a diversely experienced transactional attorney focusing his practice on real property acquisitions and dispositions, title insurance and project due diligence, land use and commercial leasing. His clients range from startups acquiring their first company headquarters, to regional lenders funding local multifamily construction projects and selling REO commercial property, to publicly traded companies acquiring vacant land and broken and abandoned residential subdivisions.

Jed’s representative matters include:

  • Securing all entitlements and approvals for a 45-acre residential subdivision adjacent to an ongoing mining operation in Truckee, California, including negotiation and preparation of a conservation easement dedicating a substantial portion of the project for public use and an access easement for adjacent mining operation.
  • Negotiating and drafting the purchase and sale contract and lease for a $20 million sale/leaseback of a Simi Valley industrial warehouse; negotiating and drafting retail, office and industrial leases across the country on behalf of landlords and national credit tenants; and securitizing unpaid fees in a Chapter 11 reorganization by preparing loan documents, including loan agreements and promissory notes secured by deeds of trust on multiple properties.
  • Securing all entitlement approvals for the conversion of a 1930s Downtown Los Angeles industrial warehouse into live/work apartments. Prepared and presented the conditional use application and developing community support for the adaptive reuse project.
