JT handles a wide array of general corporate matters, including setting up organizations, assisting in financing rounds and drafting board resolutions. He also has experience advising fraternal benefits societies in regard to corporate matters, including tax exempt and insurance regulatory issues.
Before Fox Rothschild
Prior to joining Fox, JT was a law clerk at Thrivent Financial, a Fortune 500 financial services nonprofit organization, where he worked closely with counsel to ensure tax exemption and performed extensive legal research, writing and drafting in the areas of tax exemption (federal and state level), insurance and gaming law. He also contributed to the newest edition of the treatise on 501(c)(8) used by all fraternal benefit society attorneys and developed a nationwide compliance policy for insurance agents using promotional marketing.
JT was a law clerk in the tax unit at Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid, where he assisted the primary tax attorney in supporting clients facing IRS and Minnesota Department of Revenue audits and appeals. He was also an extern for the Honorable Kerry Meyer of the Fourth Judicial District Court.
While in college, JT was a student supervisor for the Summit Marketplace at University of St. Thomas and an intern to Referee Timothy Mulrooney of the Fourth Judicial District Family Court. He also served as student adviser, president and treasurer for UST Allies, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) student association, during undergrad.
