Arnold Schwarzenegger Not Fighting Spousal Support

Arnold Schwarzenegger's divorce papers were recently amended after stirring controversy over a checked box. The box, which originally was checked to indicated his request to terminate the court's jurisdiction to award spousal support to Maria Shriver, has now been unchecked.

L.A. family attorney Scott Weston, who is not involved in the divorce case, said Schwarzenegger's original request was "standard practice."

"He would have checked the box to give the court the right to end his spousal support obligation should Shriver at some point have enough money to support herself," said Weston. "It's a matter of reserving that right for the future."

Weston said it's probable he amended the papers because "[h]e's taking a lot of heat for having done it, as if he was intending to cut her off, which was not the case."
