Michael Sweet was quoted in The Detroit News article "Chapter 9 Ruling Due Any Day in Detroit." While the full text can be found in the November 25, 2013, issue of The Detroit News, a synopsis is noted below.

Two weeks after a nine-day trial on Detroit’s eligibility for bankruptcy concluded, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes has yet to rule on the city’s fate. The case is still moving along rapidly in comparison to some other municipal bankruptcy cases.

It took 14 months before San Bernardino, California was granted eligibility in August after the judge opted against holding a trial on eligibility and ruled from the bench, said Michael Sweet.

“Even if it takes (Rhodes) a while to make this ruling, the pace is still way ahead of any other case we’ve seen recently,” Sweet said.
