Chester County Office of Fox Rothschild Holds Food Drive To Support Lord’s PantryDecember 10, 2010 – Press Releases
The Chester County office of Fox Rothschild LLP recently held a non-perishable food drive in an effort to provide a Thanksgiving to those in need. All donations were given to The Lord’s Pantry of Downingtown (LPD), a nonprofit organization serving residents of Downingtown, Lionville and Exton.
Firm employees Nadine Kozak, Rebecca Hudson, Yolanda Bumarch, Heather Godley, Sharon Aberle and Jennifer Hattersley prepared homemade soups for other employees in exchange for a donation of a canned good or non-perishable food item. More than 250 non-perishable food items, household items and monetary donations were ultimately collected and sent to the Lord’s Pantry to assist during the holiday season.
The Lord’s Pantry was created in the 1960s as a small charity helping people in need within the St. James Episcopal church family. The concept grew to helping families throughout the broader Downingtown area, and by the 1980s, was adopted by the Downingtown Ministerial association. Each year for Thanksgiving, Lord’s Pantry distributes more than 100 baskets comprised of traditional Thanksgiving meals as well as appetizers, breakfast foods and desserts.
