Commuting the Israel-Diaspora Divide

Since Mark Hess moved to Israel in 2002, he splits his time every month working out of Fox Rothschild's Los Angeles office and from his home in the Katamon neighborhood of Jerusalem. While stateside, Hess tries to accomplish as much work as possible often putting in 15-hour days. In Israel he starts the workday in the early afternoon and finishes as late as 3 a.m.

“It’s definitely difficult,” Hess said, but “I think the reward of being able to live in Israel and have the family there and the kids grow up in Israel is worth the sacrifice.”
