Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Daniel T. Berkley has joined the firm as a partner in the Labor & Employment Department, resident in the firm’s San Francisco office.

“The addition of Daniel to the firm’s deeply experienced team of California labor and employment lawyers adds significant value to the scope of services we are able to provide clients in the Golden State and beyond,” said Keith I. Chrestionson, managing partner of the firm’s San Francisco office. “With more than three decades of experience, Daniel has a proven ability to provide clients with proper guidance in the labor and employment and personnel management issues that allow their businesses to function, and the skills to guide difficult disputes to favorable resolutions.”

Berkley, who began his career as a field attorney for the National Labor Relations Board, has more than 30 years of experience handling labor and employment and personnel management matters. He represents a diverse client base across a broad range of industries—including health care, hospitality, restaurants, food sales and distribution and wine and spirits—in disputes before regulatory agencies and in state and federal courts. Berkley has extensive experience in dispute resolution, collective bargaining negotiations, contract administration and grievance resolution. He frequently provides guidance toward the resolution of challenging employee-employer issues in both union and non-union environments and he regularly advises clients on sexual harassment and discrimination prevention, policies and training.

Berkley regularly speaks on leading trends and developments in the labor and employment field and he is a frequent contributor to various trade and educational publications. He is a regular speaker for the California Association of Healthcare Facilities, Women for Wine Sense (Napa and Sonoma), Community Care Options, Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys, California CPA Education Foundation, Lorman Enterprises and Sterling Education Services.

Berkley began his career as an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board. He previously worked as a partner in the California office of a prominent Philadelphia-based law firm before founding his own firm, which he ran for 15 years. Most recently, Berkley was a partner in the San Francisco office of a national litigation and business transactions firm.

Berkley is a member of the California Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section, The Bar Association of San Francisco’s Labor and Employment Law Section and The Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys, and he is also an associate member of The California Association of Health Care Facilities.

Berkley joins Fox Rothschild’s rapidly-growing labor and employment team on the West Coast, which is poised to help employers navigate the complexities of managing a workforce in California.

Berkley earned his J.D. from the University of California, Boalt Hall School of Law in 1971 and his B.A. from Wayne State University.
