Elizabeth Sigety To Speak on Pitching and Early-Stage Investing at Upcoming Conferences

Elizabeth “Liz” D. Sigety, co-chair of the Franchising, Licensing and Distribution practice and a dedicated member of the Tech & Venture Finance practice at Fox Rothschild LLP, will discuss perfecting the business pitch at two upcoming events for early-stage companies.

Sigety will join Own It Ventures on November 30 for “Practice Your Prime Time Business Pitch,” which will offer women entrepreneurs the opportunity to practice pitching to investors, the media and retailers. This three-panel roadshow will be held at Rutgers Business School in Newark, NJ.

On December 4, Sigety will join a panel of industry insiders for a discussion on early-stage investing at the Philly VC & Angel Roundup 2012, which will be held at Benjamin’s Desk in Philadelphia, PA. The panel will provide early-stage companies with insight on how to meet and pitch investors as well as hot sectors that Angels and VCs are looking to invest in. For more information, click here.

Sigety, who was recently named among the most powerful and influential women in Pennsylvania by the National Diversity Council, focuses her practice on a wide variety of corporate, venture finance, franchising, licensing and distribution matters. For more than 20 years, she has been a trusted adviser to clients, including startup companies and entrepreneurs, handling business and financial transactions such as venture capital and angel financing, mergers and acquisitions, franchising, licensing, securities and private placements.

Sigety is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Delaware Crossing Investor Group. She is also the Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Philadelphia Women’s Franchise Network of the International Franchise Association. She is involved with many local and national organizations including the Angel Capital Association, the Pennsylvania Angel Network, the International Franchise Association and the Professional Athletes Franchise Initiative, and serves on numerous non-profit boards in the Philadelphia and New York regions.

Sigety received her B.A., cum laude, from Yale College in 1986 and her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1989.
