March 2, 2016 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Heather R. Boshak will be honored at the Executive Women of New Jersey’s (EWNJ) “Salute to the Policy Makers” Awards Dinner on May 5.

The prestigious event will celebrate women who serve on corporate boards or hold senior-level positions within New Jersey corporations and institutions. Proceeds from the event will fund organizations dedicated to advancing the professional growth of women in the community.

Founded in 1980, EWNJ is the oldest organization for senior-level women in the state. It promotes the advancement of women in business and offers scholarships to women seeking graduate degrees.

An advocate for women leaders, Boshak co-chairs the Leadership Subcommittee of the firmwide Women’s Initiative, which offers assistance with marketing and networking, mentoring and work/life balance. This committee also oversees the investment of resources into the recruitment, retention and career development of women attorneys and provides programming geared toward increasing the number of women leaders and partners at the firm.

Additionally, she serves as co-chair of the firmwide Partnership Advancement Committee, where she oversees the evaluation and recommendation of associates seeking to be elevated to partner status. In this role, Boshak has overseen the evaluation of the candidacy of more than 100 associates seeking elevation.

Active in the community, Boshak was elected to the District VB (Essex County – Suburban Essex) Ethics Committee in 2013 for a four-year term. Boshak is a current board member and former co-secretary, vice president and chief financial officer of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association. Since 2011, Boshak has participated in Running 4 Answers, a run/walk benefiting Cure for Alzheimer’s. She is a former board member of the Lawyers with Children Association and participated in the George Washington Bridge Challenge Walk benefiting the American Cancer Society for over ten years. Boshak also has served as a brief grader for the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition since 2014, judging the briefs of law students participating in the national competition. In addition, Boshak has served on the Hadassah Attorneys Counsel for numerous years, providing input as to amicus brief filings by the organization.

Boshak focuses her practice on employment litigation, representing employers throughout the United States in federal and state courts and in various administrative tribunals. Her broad range of litigation experience includes the representation of employers in cases – including class actions – alleging wage and hour, sexual harassment, race, national origin, gender, disability and age discrimination, breach of contract, violations of public policy and tort claims.

She also handles traditional labor matters including labor arbitrations and NLRB proceedings. In addition, Boshak regularly provides counseling to employers on compliance with various state and federal employment laws and regulations.

Boshak earned her J.D. from Tulane University Law School and her B.A. from Brandeis University.
