Family Upset Over Neighbor’s Outdoor Furnace

The influx of outdoor wood-burning furnaces may be a greener way to heat homes, but has recently caused problems among neighbors. A Huntingdon Valley, Pa, family is one of many who experienced high levels of smoke coming into their yard and home from a neighbors outdoor furnace. Currently, there are no laws regulating or prohibiting these furnaces. Ely Goldin was interviewed saying regulations need to be created regarding how far back the furnaces should be placed from homes, what the standard height should be for the chimneys and the proper use of a furnace.
