Despite a tough year for the legal industry in 2009, Fox Rothschild managed to increase its gross revenue and net profits by significant margins while increasing its equity partner tier and avoiding the cost-cutting measures taken at many Am Law 200 firms.

Administrative Partner Mark L. Silow said the gross revenue grew because the firm “added a number of really productive lateral partners over the last 18 months and they all really sort of kicked into gear during the last fiscal year.” When asked how the firm increased net profits without any cost-cutting initiatives, Silow said the firm has always tightly managed the expense side as a reflection of the type of practice it has.
