Former Woodcliff Lake councilwoman, Joanna Howley, resigned from council before pleading guilty to charges of theft by deception for fabricating information for pool passes for her family, is asking the borough to cover her legal fees for an Open Public Records (OPRA) lawsuit filed against her in May 2010.

Ernest Badway, attorney for Joanne Howley, sent a letter July 11 to the borough and to the Mayor and Council's home addresses demanding the borough pay the $7,965 she incurred in legal fees.
