August 24, 2016 – Press Releases

In moves that grow its litigation and financial services practices in the Minneapolis office, Fox Rothschild LLP announced that four seasoned attorneys have joined the firm as partners.

John C. Ekman and Eric J. Nystrom joined the firm’s litigation group.

“We’re thrilled to add so much talent to our team,” said Brad Keil, Minneapolis office managing partner. “All of our clients benefit when lawyers of this caliber join the firm.”

Ekman is known for handling large, complex commercial and banking cases in state and federal courts across the country. His extensive trial experience enables him to devise strategies for litigation involving dozens of witnesses and thousands of documents, in which hundreds of millions of dollars are at stake. Ekman received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, his M.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his B.A. from Oberlin College.

Nystrom is an experienced trial lawyer who has secured eight- and nine-figure verdicts and settlements in complex commercial litigation. He has tried cases to verdict in state and federal courts and administrative forums in 10 states. He has also litigated international disputes before the American Arbitration Association’s Centre for International Dispute Resolution. Nystrom received his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law and his B.A. from Iowa State University.

Fox entered the Minneapolis market in January of this year through a merger with Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly. The office has more than 75 attorneys practicing in commercial litigation, financial services, bankruptcy, medical technology, mergers and acquisitions, real estate finance and securities, with additional strengths in health care litigation, employee benefits, intellectual property and labor and employment.
