In a move that expands its already robust presence in the Garden State, Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased welcome a group of three bankruptcy and litigation attorneys to its Roseland office.
Fox’s newest members are:
- Andrew J. Karas –Partner, Litigation, Zoning & Land Use
- Catherine E. Youngman –Partner, Financial Restructuring & Bankruptcy
- Michael R. Herz – Associate, Financial Restructuring & Bankruptcy

With four New Jersey-based offices that are home to more than 150 attorneys, Fox’s Garden State capabilities are vast. Attorneys in the region regularly assist clients with matters relating to labor and employment, bankruptcy, general and commercial litigation, corporate, immigration, gaming, real estate/zoning and land use, family law and taxation and wealth planning issues.
Prior to joining Fox, the group was with Forman Holt Eliades & Youngman LLC.

Karas is widely regarded as an aggressive and creative litigator who provides strategic resolutions to complex commercial and construction disputes, land use matters and criminal defense cases. His clients include businesses engaged in a wide variety of industries as well as individuals facing allegations of white-collar offenses, fraud and other matters.
Karas earned his J.D. from New York Law School and his B.S. from University of Massachusetts.
For more than 20 years, Youngman has focused her practice on debtor and creditor rights and the representation of Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 trustees in insolvency and bankruptcy matters. In 1999, the U.S. Department of Justice appointed her to the private panel of bankruptcy trustees, and she has served as a Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 trustee in more than 10,000 cases. She also has experience in civil and commercial litigation disputes as well as land use matters and has represented corporations, partnerships and individuals, trying numerous jury and non-jury cases to completion.
Youngman earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.A. and M.P.A. from Syracuse University.
With diverse experience in bankruptcy and financial restructuring matters, Herz represents bankruptcy trustees in estate administration, creditors -- including prominent financial institutions -- and consumer debtors in all phases of the bankruptcy process, including bankruptcy-related litigation. He also handles a range of general civil and commercial litigation at all stages, including through trial.
Herz earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and his B.A. from Brandeis University, with honors.
