Fox and William Choslovsky Named 2015 IARF Champion Award Honoree

September 24, 2015 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP Partner William Choslovsky has spent ten years working pro bono representing more than 6,000 developmentally disabled residents in an on-going class action lawsuit in federal court. The case is Ligas v. Norwood No. 05 C 4331 (N.D. IL) – which is pending in Chicago. Most recently, Choslovsky obtained emergency relief against the state of Illinois, whereby the court ordered the state to continue funding residents’ programs despite the state’s on-going budget problems. As a result, funding for the 6,000 residents continues unimpeded.

In recognition of his generous pro bono commitment and his results, the Illinois Association of Rehabilitation Facilities’ (IARF) has named Choslovsky and the firm a 2015 Champion Award honoree and will recognize him at the 40th IARF Educational Conference & Expo at the Chicago Marriot Naperville in Naperville, IL from October 7-9.

The award highlights individuals, groups, and organizations that put forth significant effort to support, advance, and raise awareness of the importance of community-based services and supports for persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities and mental illnesses.

A Harvard Law School graduate, Choslovsky is a trial-tested litigator who understands that solving matters outside the courtroom is preferred. Though he works with clients to avoid the courtroom whenever possible, he is also prepared to litigate and take a case to trial when necessary, as his recent efforts prove.
