Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Emily Yukich and Matthew Kittay have been named co-chairs of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Angel Venture Capital Subcommittee of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Committee.
The Committee’s mission is to provide a unique and highly educational forum for private equity and venture capital practitioners of all experience levels to exchange views and information on current and emerging legal and practical issues, trends and developments and practice considerations of specific interest or relevance to private equity and venture capital funds, and their investment transactions, portfolio companies and investors. As co-chairs of the Angel Venture Capital Subcommittee, Yukich and Kittay will focus their work on these topics within the angel capital context.
A partner in Fox’s Los Angeles office, Yukich handles business formation, planning and restructuring for her clients and works with startups on strategy and early-stage funding as well as with existing companies on growth and acquisition financing. She also handles mergers, acquisitions and other general commercial transactions and provides advice on corporate governance matters. Yukich serves as outside general counsel to a number of clients, advising on day-to-day legal matters and assisting with contract negotiation, leasing and brand protection. Additionally, she advises private equity and venture capital investors on due diligence, negotiation of investment documents and other matters.
Yukich is an active member of the Board of the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA). In 2011, she founded Women in LAVA, a strategic interest group focused on the specific needs of women entrepreneurs who are seeking seed or venture financing.
An associate in the firm’s New York office, Kittay handles a wide array of corporate matters, including private equity and venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance issues. In addition to his extensive experience with emerging and growth stage technology companies, he has also represented industry leaders in life sciences and medical device companies, sports brands, fashion and retail companies and chemicals manufactures and suppliers.
Kittay is the co-founder of Digital Brown, Brown University's global network of alumni in digital technology and media. He is also an active member of New York's Venture Capital community and has published with and advised for local, national and international venture capital incubator programs.
