Fox Attorneys To Lead Montgomery County Bar Association’s Diversity Committee

March 11, 2015 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Marilou Watson was appointed to a one-year term as chair of the Montgomery Bar Association’s (MBA) Diversity Committee.

The Diversity Committee was created in 2007 and meets regularly to discuss methods to promote diversity in the association and addresses outreach initiatives to the entire Montgomery County legal community.

The MBA is a nonprofit organization composed of nearly 2,100 Montgomery County attorneys. The association offers its members numerous opportunities for professional development and helps deliver the services of member attorneys to the community.

As a longstanding member of the MBA Diversity Committee, Watson pioneered its “Day in Court” program at the Montgomery County Courthouse, which received a 2013 County Bar Recognition Award from the Pennsylvania Bar Association for its impact on the future of the legal profession. The program provides Montgomery County high school students the opportunity to observe a live court proceeding and meet with several county judges, the Public Defender, County Detectives and County Commissioners.

A leader at the firm, Watson, a partner and former co-chair of the Fox’s Diversity Committee, serves as co-chair of the Tech and Venture Finance Practice. She focuses her practice on all aspects of intellectual property law, including foreign and domestic patent prosecution, client counseling, infringement analysis, patent invalidity and freedom to operate studies and Hatch-Waxman issues related to ANDA filings, licensing, due diligence and divestiture matters in the chemical and pharmaceutical arts.
