Fox Expands Nationwide Corporate Practice with Partner Barbara P. Alonso in Miami

Enhancing the firm’s robust national Corporate Department, Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to welcome Barbara P. Alonso as a partner to the firm’s Miami office.

“Barbara is a distinguished attorney with far-reaching experience and we are thrilled that she is joining our team,” said Joseph A. DeMaria, Fox’s Miami office managing partner. “She brings a remarkably diverse background in handling international and domestic corporate and finance matters, including matters in Latin America, which will benefit our clients nationwide.”

Alonso focuses her practice on corporate and project finance, private equity and general corporate and compliance matters as well as mergers and acquisitions. She advises clients on domestic and cross-border transactions and a wide range of commercial and project-based financing, including syndicated and bilateral credit facilities and asset-based and other secured and unsecured debt transactions. She also has experience representing project sponsors, lenders and other parties on public-private partnerships. Her clients range from startups and small companies to Fortune 500 companies.

Alonso has served as secretary of the Hispanic National Bar Foundation’s board of directors since 2012. She also co-founded SEED, a nonprofit foundation that supports international public school education in South Florida. Alonso was recognized among “Latin America’s Top 100 Female Lawyers” by Latinvex and as the “Dealmaker of the Year – Corporate and Corporate Finance" by the Daily Business Review. She has been listed in Chambers for Latin American Investments.

Alonso earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School, Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University and her B.A. from Cornell University.

Prior to joining Fox, Alonso was a partner with Squire Patton Boggs.
