January 24, 2012 – Press Releases

Stuart B. Dember, a partner in the Princeton office of Fox Rothschild LLP, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Boheme Opera NJ.

“Mr. Dember has shown his passion for our company and our mission by being an active participant in its productions and events, and as a community advocate,” said Jeffrey Stundel, president of Boheme’s board. “The board appointment marries Mr. Dember’s devotion to the performing arts with a commitment to community service, evidenced by his active roles with such organizations as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), the Eden Institute and Womanspace.”

One of the oldest opera companies in New Jersey, Boheme strives to make world-class musical performance accessible and available to artists and audiences in the New Jersey-Pennsylvania region through opera, concerts and outreach. The organization is committed to preserving and promoting the operatic art form and introducing it to new and diverse audiences, while actively promoting community involvement, business partnerships and collaborations with other arts organizations.

Dember has been a behind-the-scenes supporter of Boheme prior to his supernumerary role as the King of Naples in the Company’s 2011 production of “Tosca”.

“This understanding of the demands of staging an opera – onstage and off – from both the business and artistic perspectives, combined with his not-for-profit and professional experience, make Mr. Dember an asset to the board, Boheme and, truly, our audiences,” said Stundel.

In practice for more than 30 years, Dember represents clients in complex commercial real estate matters, primarily handling significant multimillion-dollar transactions. He has helped clients acquire substantial commercial properties and secured permanent financing for the development of office buildings, health facilities and retail shopping centers. Dember also helps resolve related construction issues and has facilitated the sale and purchase of general businesses and restaurants.

In the Mercer County area, Dember has created commercial, residential and mixed-use condominiums, and he represents landlords and both regional and national tenants in negotiating and finalizing ground, office and retail leases. Projects he has worked on include negotiation of a licensing agreement with professional golfer Tiger Woods.

Admitted to practice in New Jersey, Dember is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association and Princeton Bar Association. He is past co-chair and trustee of the Real Estate Section of the Mercer County Bar Association and former member of the District VII Ethics Committee.

Actively engaged in community service, Dember is on the Operating Committee of the Eden Institute, Inc. and member/sponsor of the American Heart Association, Womanspace, Inc. and CASA.

Dember earned his J.D., cum laude, in 1973 from New York School of Law, where he was editor of the New York Law Forum, and his B.A. from Princeton University in 1969.
