November 26, 2012 – Press Releases

Strengthening the West Coast presence of its nationwide Corporate Department, Fox Rothschild welcomes William Mark Levinson to the firm’s Los Angeles office as a partner and Co-chair of the Financial Services Industry Practice Group.

Levinson brings three decades of experience representing and counseling clients on strategic corporate, securities, real estate and financing transactions, with a particular focus in municipal finance matters. He joins Fox Rothschild from Greenberg Traurig, LLP.

“Mark is a terrific asset to our team in Los Angeles and significantly broadens the bench of corporate, transactional and finance capabilities we offer clients on the West Coast,” said Jeffrey S. Kravitz, managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles office. “Beyond his extensive experience in general corporate, securities, real estate and entertainment finance, he is fluent in municipal finance law and is sought out by financial institutions, municipalities, government authorities and educational institutions for his skilled services and experienced counsel.”

Levinson has extensive experience in corporate and securities law, routinely assisting issuers, underwriters, placement agents and investors with structuring, negotiating and documenting the public and private placement of complex securities offerings, derivatives and private fund formation and advice. He further handles loan restructurings and defaulted bond workouts on behalf of lenders, indenture trustees and bondholders. He regularly counsels clients on corporate governance, disclosure and securities law compliance.

Levinson is a trusted adviser to clients in municipal finance infrastructure, affordable housing, charter school and new market tax credit financings. He routinely offers representation as bond and underwriter's counsel, borrower’s and credit provider's counsel and indenture trustee's counsel.

Levinson handles a range of real estate transactions representing investors, syndicators, investment funds, developers and owners with projects such as office and retail buildings, industrial facilities and multi-family properties.

Levinson currently serves on the Chairman's Circle for the Los Angeles Business Counsel, the Board of Governors at Cedars Sinai Hospital, is Second Vice President on the executive board for the New West Symphony and a past cabinet member of the real estate and construction division of the Jewish Federation and Trustee of Temple Judea of the San Fernando Valley. Additionally, Levinson is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, Los Angeles Business Counsel, Los Angeles Business Forum, Los Angeles Venture Association, National Association of Bond Lawyers, American Bar Association, Brandeis University President's California Council and the Dean's Advisory Council of Cardozo School of Law.

The addition of Levinson continues Fox Rothschild’s expansion in California. Recent hires in Los Angeles include veteran entertainment lawyer Jody Simon, corporate partner Emily Yukich, intellectual property attorney Lena Bacani and tax attorney Jeremy Pelphrey.
