Fox Rothschild Expands Intellectual Property Department With Addition of Lori S. Kozak

October 5, 2015 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to welcome Lori S. Kozak, a former trademark examining attorney for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), as a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

“With nearly two decades of experience handling intellectual property matters with the USPTO and in private practice, Lori’s addition strategically expands the firm’s IP transactional capabilities for clients in Los Angeles and nationwide,” said Darrell D. Miller, the firm’s Los Angeles office managing partner. “We are delighted to welcome her to our firm.”

Kozak focuses her practice on IP transactional and prosecution matters and has more than 17 years of experience providing strategic management of trademark and copyright assets and related client counseling; evaluating trademark clearance searches and preparing legal opinions regarding availability; supervising the preparation, filing and prosecution of domestic and international trademark applications; drafting and negotiating trademark and copyright agreements; handling trademark enforcement matters, including opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the USPTO; handling domain name disputes; and conducting due diligence reviews of intellectual property assets.

Kozak regularly develops strategies that seek to avoid costly and often counterproductive trademark and copyright disputes. She also assists clients in implementing strategies for trademark selection, procurement, maintenance, enforcement and portfolio management. She has extensive experience managing large U.S. and international portfolios in the fields of computers and technology, entertainment, multimedia, construction products, apparel, food and beverages, and health and fitness products.

Kozak received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School and her B.A., with honors, from Mount Vernon College.

Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Kozak was a partner at Blakely Sokoloff Taylor & Zafman LLP.
