Fox Rothschild Formalizes Employee Benefits & Compensation DepartmentMay 16, 2016 – Press Releases
Cementing its commitment to advising companies of all sizes with their pension, benefits and executive compensation programs, Fox Rothschild LLP has formally established a nationwide Employee Benefits & Compensation Department.
“Employee benefit programs are integral to businesses looking to retain top talent and recruit the best executives,” Fox’s firmwide managing partner Mark L. Silow said.
“The addition of our Minneapolis office almost doubled the size of our national employee benefits roster. Formalizing the team into a firm department was a logical next step for us,” Silow said. “This is a pivotal practice area that plays a significant role in helping clients successfully manage and grow their business operations.”
Co-chaired by partners Brian G. Belisle (Minneapolis), Susan Foreman Jordan (Pittsburgh) and Harvey M. Katz (New York), the department is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of firm attorneys who assist in the review, design, implementation and operation of employee retirement, health, welfare, incentive compensation and fringe benefit programs to serve the needs of individuals as well as public and privately held employers and their employees.
The team has decades of experience in employee benefits and extensive knowledge of estate planning, labor and employment, litigation, securities, individual and corporate taxation and corporate law.
Known for his refusal to back away from any challenge, Belisle provides strategic guidance to employers to help them manage their most pressing employee benefits and executive compensation challenges. He guides clients on 401(k) plans, pension plans, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and top-hat executive deferred compensation plans.
Named Pittsburgh 2015 Lawyer of the Year for Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law by Best Lawyers, Jordan works closely with clients to design and develop comprehensive plans that benefit companies and their employees. She is well known in the industry for her extensive experience with retirement plans and employee benefits.
While focusing his practice on all aspects of employee benefits and executive compensation matters, Katz is known for his involvement in audits by the IRS and other government agencies that oversee the benefit laws. With more than 38 years of experience, he handles an extremely broad array of sophisticated employee benefits issues for public and private companies and is particularly well-versed in ESOPs.
