Fox Rothschild saw its gross revenue increase approximately 8.7 percent during the 2013 fiscal year.

Over the course of the year, the Philadelphia-based firm grew by more than 40 attorneys in its nationwide offices, as it saw its revenues rise from about $277 million in to 2012 to about $301 million in 2013.

According to Firmwide Managing Partner Mark Silow, 2013 was the eighth consecutive year in which the firm “was better than the year before in virtually every financial metric we track.”

Silow attributed the revenue increase to a combination of the addition of a number of productive laterals and organic growth in several practice areas, including the firm’s gaming practice, led by Nicholas Casiello Jr.

The firm’s real estate practice also had a very strong year, which Silow called “pleasantly surprising” given the slowing of the real estate market since the recession.

“I think the degree of the strength was surprising,” Silow said. “There was definitely an uptick in real estate transactions but also the land use work became very active, especially in New York and in the Philadelphia area.”

Silow noted the addition of several “instantly productive” laterals as a key to the revenue increase.

Fox added 16-attorney Lottner Rubin Fishman Saul to its Denver office in July and a team of five land use and zoning lawyers from Wachtel Masyr & Missry to the New York office.
