Fox Rothschild Hosts Second Annual Essay ContestNovember 18, 2016 – Press Releases
Fox partners with Success North Dallas to bring “Voices in Democracy” writing challenge to Village Tech Schools Students
Continuing a longstanding commitment of giving back to the community, Clint David, Dallas office managing partner of the national law firm of Fox Rothschild LLP partnered with Success North Dallas to host the firm’s second annual essay contest themed, “Voices in Democracy.” Students from grades 6 through 8 from Village Tech Schools participated in the contest.
Fox Rothschild originated the essay contest to provide a forum for the next generation of Dallas’ leaders to find their voices and offer their perspectives on today’s pressing social justice issues.
This year, students were asked to consider former President Jimmy Carter’s quote: “We are a nation of differences. Those differences do not make us weak. They are the source of our strength.” More than 100 students responded, describing in their essays what these powerful words mean to them.
“As our country evolves, it is critical that we come together and discuss our differences and learn from one another,” said David. “As a Dallas-native, I am honored to take part in this special opportunity to meet with local students and help start these vital conversations.”
Fox had the opportunity to join forces for the contest with Success North Dallas, a group of business men and women who convene monthly for presentations on topical issues and networking.
“Success North Dallas was thrilled to partner with Fox Rothschild for this inspiring essay contest, which brought together local students from many different backgrounds,” said Bill Wallace, founder of Success North Dallas. “We were moved by the essays submitted. Every student did a wonderful job.”
