Fox Rothschild LLP and Black Women in Entertainment Law Foundation Co-Host Entertainment Industry Toast and Reception in Los Angeles

Fox Rothschild LLP will partner with Black Women in Entertainment Law Foundation (BWEL) to host an Entertainment Industry Toast and Fundraising Reception on June 23, 2011 from 7pm to 10pm—three days before the entertainment community gathers at the 2011 BET Awards Show—at Philippe Chow, located at 8284 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.

The event, spearheaded by entertainment attorney Darrell D. Miller Fox Rothschild LLP and Nyanza Shaw of Shaw Esquire & Associates, will acknowledge leading African-American women in the entertainment industry and raise funds for BWEL scholarships. Those being honored are Toni Judkins, Senior Vice President, Production and Programming at TV One; Dana Sims, Motion Picture Talent Agent, International Creative Management; and Pearlena Igbokwe, Senior Vice President, Original Programming at Showtime Network.

"The entertainment industry is home to a number of progressive and innovative women of color who are exemplary leadership models for future professionals in the business, and we are very pleased to be partnering with BWEL to honor them at this reception," said Miller.

Miller, co-chair of Fox Rothschild’s Entertainment Law Practice, was inducted into the Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association Hall of Fame in 2007 and is consistently named among the Top 50 Showbiz Players by Black Enterprise Magazine.

"BWEL is honored to present this event along with Fox Rothschild LLP and salute the three honorees who are shining examples of the success and professionalism that we strive to inspire others to achieve through our scholarship and mentorship programs," said Shaw.

Shaw is a prominent entertainment attorney and BWEL Board Member as well current Board Member and former chair of the John M. Langston Bar Association’s Entertainment Law Committee. Her firm, Shaw Esquire & Associates, represents clients throughout the entertainment, media and sports industries.
