Fox Rothschild Named a Top Patent and Trademark Law Firm by IP Today

May 7, 2012 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild’s growing Intellectual Property Department was recently named among the top patent and trademark firms by IP Today. In the 2012 list of the top patent firms, Fox Rothschild ranked #155 out of 272 firms with 168 issued patents. In the 2012 list of the top trademark firms, Fox ranked #48 out of 142 firms.

The listings are comprised of law firms/individuals ranked according to the number of patents and trademark registrations issued in 2011 where the firm or individual is listed as the legal representative on the application or registration.

“The rankings illustrate the continued growth and establishment of our patent and trademark practices,” said Gerard P. Norton, Ph.D., chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. “Our experience, technology, knowledge and dedication to protecting and maximizing our clients’ IP assets have aided us in this growth.”

The firm has added several experienced attorneys and agents to its IP practice in the past year, including partners Tim Mandelbaum, Michael L. Reinert and Monika A. Tashman and associate Robert L. Norton in the firm’s New York office; partner Jim M. Singer and associate Brienne S. Terrill in firm’s Pittsburgh office; and partner Thomas T. Chan and counsel Lisa A. Karczewski in the firm’s Downtown Los Angeles office.

Fox Rothschild’s Intellectual Property Department is currently home to more than 82 attorneys — 38 of which are registered patent attorneys — and four patent agents, including a large number with doctoral and other advanced degrees in scientific disciplines. These attorneys bring diverse perspectives, industry knowledge and the technical capabilities needed to maximize IP value — for corporations, hospitals and clients engaged in the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology and other industries.
