Fox Rothschild’s Gotaskie Elected to Board of the Greater Pittsburgh Council, Boy Scouts of America

John Gotaskie’s election to the Board of Directors of the Greater Pittsburgh Council of Boy Scouts of America was noted in the June 28 edition of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. John’s election was also noted in the June 21 edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

John R. Gotaskie, Jr., a partner and litigator with the Pittsburgh office of Fox Rothschild LLP, has been elected to the board of directors of the Greater Pittsburgh Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Through its Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturing programs, the Greater Pittsburgh Council serves more than 50,000 youths in Allegheny, Beaver, Washington, Greene and parts of Westmoreland and Fayette counties. An Eagle Scout recipient in 1990, Gotaskie has held leadership positions with the Council, including service as the Chairperson of the 2009 Friends of Scouting Dinner. As a board member, Gotaskie will serve as Council Program Activity Chairman.

In his law practice, Gotaskie represents individuals, partnerships, and companies in diverse legal matters including complex commercial litigation, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy litigation, and franchising issues. Last year, he was the recipient of the Reed Alumni Award for his service to the Georgetown University Board of Governors.

Gotaskie received his law degree in 1997, cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. In 1994, he obtained his bachelor of science degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. More about John Gotaskie
