Peter Tucci and his family are visiting the island nation of Haiti this week to help out on a medical mission sponsored by the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville and The Pennington School.

Ten students from The Pennington School – including Tucci’s two daughters – are being accompanied on the medical mission by two physicians, a registered nurse and two parents.

“With something like this (medical mission trip), you can really make a direct impact,” said Tucci. “We bring things down and we dispense it right to the people. There is no question that it gets to the people (for whom it is intended),”

“In a country like Haiti, whether it is a pen or a tennis ball or an old uniform (from The Pennington School), somebody can use it,” he said.

“There is nothing luxurious about this trip. For two nights, we are going to be sleeping on the floor in the clinic. There is no electricity. It is commendable, in my opinion,” Tucci said of the students signed up for the trip.
