After the Court of Common Pleas awarded the Swell bubble gum factory $6 million dollars in damages, Haverford Township has decided to file an appeal, calling the figure "excessive."

The Swell factory, operated by the Fenimore family, appealed the original case, in which the township offered them $1.26 million.

David Snyder, attorney for the Fenimore family, said "It's unfortunate that they chose to file and appeal. We believe the Board of View made its decision after full and complete hearing and consideration of all the evidence. We'll proceed with the appeal."
