Jim Singer was quoted in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article, “In The Lead: Inventor Donny Beaver Leans On Other People's Ideas for HalenHardy.” Full text can be found in the May 14, 2015, issue, but a synopsis is noted below.

Innovator Donny Beaver, HalenHardy LLC’s CEO, discovered several different ideas. However, almost all of his inventions actually came from pre-existing products and ideas that he found on the internet.

Beaver patented a mud scraper for work boots, a product for absorbing industrial spills, along with many others—several of which have been sold. Notably, Beaver sees HalenHardy growing its business development skills further as the company evolves.

His licensing attorney, Jim Singer, commented that new inventions aren’t always new ideas, but rather old ideas used in a new way or for a different purpose. Singer noted that Beaver is especially successful at doing just that: finding a new market or commercial market for an old product.

“It’s a very efficient way to do development if you find that somebody has already done the legwork,” Singer added.
