Jeffrey T. Sultanik of Fox Rothschild Speaks Before Senate Education CommitteeApril 23, 2009
Jeffrey T. Sultanik, chair of the Education Law Practice at Fox Rothschild LLP, spoke before the Senate Education Committee in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, April 22, 2009. Sultanik testified in his capacity as President of the Pennsylvania School Board Solicitors Association about the proposed Pennsylvania School Boards Association’s Labor Relations Bill.
The Senate Education Committee took testimony for the purposes of determining the impact on teachers’ strikes from an educational perspective. They will be determining what legislative remedies, if any, would be appropriate.
Sultanik has more than 30 years’ experience representing public school entities and negotiating labor contracts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He also has broad experience in the private sector, representing companies of all sizes with union organizational campaigns and labor negotiations.
Sultanik became President of the Pennsylvania School Solicitors’ Association, a division of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, on January 1, 2009. As President of the Pennsylvania School Board Solicitors Association, he has a seat on the Pennsylvania School Boards Association Board. In addition, Sultanik has been a Trustee of Germantown Academy for 12 years and is currently an officer of the independent school located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. He is a co-chair of the school’s Committee on Trustees.
A sought-after author, Sultanik has authored more than 130 articles on education and labor law. A frequent media source for these issues, he has appeared on NBC 10 and local affiliates for CBS, ABC and FOX. He has been cited in The New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Post, the Philadelphia Business Journal, The Legal Intelligencer, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the American School Board Journal, and the National School Boards Associations’ Inquiry and Analysis.
