John Gotaskie Named to ABA Forum on Franchising

August 7, 2017 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that John R. Gotaskie, Jr. has been appointed as a member of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Forum on Franchising Litigation and Dispute Resolution Division (LADR).

The Forum is the main source of study and discussion of all legal aspects of franchising. The LADR division supports the forum by providing both traditional and nontraditional methods of maintaining relationships between franchisors and franchisees, encouraging different approaches to dispute resolution and improving the application of newly developed skills among members.

In his legal practice at Fox, Gotaskie represents both franchisors and franchisees in litigation and general corporate matters, including advice respecting Franchise Disclosure Documents, franchise agreements and related contracts. He also represents individuals, partnerships and companies in diverse legal matters including complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy litigation and bankruptcy creditors’ committee representations.

Gotaskie is the editor of the firm's Franchise Law Update blog, which highlights all aspects of franchising including regulatory changes, legal decisions, business, finance, employment, litigation and the protection of intellectual property including trademarks and copyrights.

Additionally, Gotaskie serves on the Steering Committee for the International Franchise Association’s Pittsburgh Franchise Business Network. He has been named a “Legal Eagle” by Franchise Times magazine since 2014.
