Lauren McKenna Elected to Joint Board of Directors for Community Legal Services and Philadelphia Legal Assistance

December 10, 2015 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Lauren P. McKenna, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, has been named to the joint board of directors for Community Legal Services (CLS) and Philadelphia Legal Assistance (PLA).

“I am deeply honored to be a part of these two vitally important organizations,” said McKenna. “The work they do every day for those members of our community who cannot otherwise afford a lawyer really gives meaning to the phrase ‘justice for all.’”

CLS was founded in 1966 by the Philadelphia Bar Association to provide free legal services in civil matters to low-income Philadelphians. To date, CLS has served more than 1 million clients unable to afford legal representation who face the daunting prospect of navigating the court system on their own.

Founded in 1996, PLA provides more than 8,000 clients each year with free legal services for matters ranging from civil disputes, including family law matters and foreclosure, to public benefits, among many others.

McKenna is Co-Chair of Fox Rothschild’s Title Insurance Defense Group and focuses her practice on commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on title related issues and on defending lenders and flood zone determination companies in matters involving claims brought under the 1973 Flood Disaster Protection Act and the 1994 National Flood Insurance Reform Act.

Active both in the community and within the firm, McKenna will serve as Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Board of Governors in 2016 and currently serves as Vice President of Eagles Fly for Leukemia, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting pediatric cancer and leukemia research in the Delaware Valley. She is also an elected member of Fox Rothschild’s Executive Committee and serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative.
