Lori Landew Named 2014 Top Entertainment Lawyer by Rock On Philly

Lori Landew, a partner in the Philadelphia office of Fox Rothschild LLP, was selected as 2014 Top Entertainment Attorney in a survey conducted by Rock on Philly, a website dedicated to the Philadelphia music scene.

In an interview with Rock on Philly, Landew advises up-and-coming artists “to treat your career like a business.” She suggests utilizing educational business resources such as the Recording Academy in Philadelphia and Donald S. Passman’s All You Need To Know About the Music Business, as well as consulting knowledgeable lawyers in the industry.

Landew served as general counsel for the Ryko Corporation (Rykodisc) and as vice president of business affairs for Zomba Recording Corporation (Jive Records) in New York before moving to Fox Rothschild. She currently sits on the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Recording Academy, the Grammy organization, where she also serves as Advocacy Co-Chair.

With more than 20 years of experience representing clients in the media and entertainment industries, Landew focuses her practice in all facets of branded entertainment including music, television and film. She regularly negotiates and drafts complex agreements – including production, distribution, licensing, sponsorship, merchandising, exclusive services, management, talent, development, employment, severance, nondisclosure and settlement agreements – to support and advance her clients’ business objectives.

Landew earned her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
