Manufacturing in China Has Its ChallengesSeptember 16, 2011 – In The News
Companies across the Unites States have flocked to China seeking opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs, but two Fairfield County-based businesses have developed other options in the U.S.
Despite the challenges some of these businesses faced with China, Paul Edelberg says the country is still a viable option for many U.S. companies.
"It's become more expensive to produce in China," said Edelberg, who has made numerous trips to China. "Labor costs have increased. Combined with shipping, some companies may think it's cheaper to manufacture here."
Others are looking to Vietnam and Cambodia, he said.
